Hey everybody it’s QCKND, and today I thought I would do like a little bit of like an updated makeup routine I’ve been doing this really subtle makeup lately, this like freckle enhancing makeup… that I feel like has been loosely inspired by like Valentine’s Day, pinks and blushes and stuff like that, but it’s really just a simple makeup, where, you know, it is kind of where I am on Earth.
It’s like winter and my freckles are like very faded and I feel like when I put makeup on top of them they look very blotchy, I feel like I’ve been drawing freckles on, and then not drawing them on. So today I kinda just want to do my like freckle enhancing makeup routine.
It’s really simple, really easy. And today I am going to be using all my vegan brushes by Vanity Planet. So this will not be a first impressions. I’ve had these brushes since… like early December, so I’d love to just show them off and kind of show how I use them.
So I’m starting off with a fresh, clean face. Um… My skin like isn’t perfect. I have blemishes and a mustache, but this is how I kinda start off the look here. My hair is already done, and… I’m just diving into it.
So what’s really cool about these Vanity brushes is they did come in a like little vegan leather carrying case I have mine in this like mason jar I have from the thrift store. I kind of- I really like this look.
But I do like the little carrying case. You guys know in my last like… …makeup video I was talking about how I wish I had a really nice set of brushes, so You can check those out. I will leave all the links down below.
I’m going to start off with my eyebrows, and this is something a little new to my makeup routine. I never used to do my eyebrows first. I used to do my foundation first. But, I feel like this kind of really helps with keeping all of my makeup really simple because once my like eyebrows and everything are defined, I’m less likely to worry about like the condition of the rest of my face if that makes sense.
So this is Brow Ways by Anastasia Beverly Hills. And I kind of just come in, and where my first like little brow hair starts I’ll like start that line. And if you see you know, you have your own little thing that you do, my all means, um.
.. I’m sorry my eyebrows are like breaking out. I’ve been using like caster oil on my eyebrows because I saw it on Instagram and all it did was give me acne. So I’m just completing the shape of my eyebrow.
Um, I kinda go for like a really natural brow now. I’m sure like the last makeup tutorial I ever had I was going like really hard with like my dipbrow Now, I’m like trying to go really natural *soft background music* And then I’ll take it to like right there and I use my own hair as a guideline.
I don’t really get my eyebrows done anymore. I just kind of let them… do whatever they want to do and then I’ll just clean up after them. These are just like really natural strokes. And then after that, the other side is like all spooly.
I’ll just blend everything in. I’ll just take some NYX tinted brown mascara and I’ll just like lift up the top couple brows. And that makes it look a lot more natural, I feel like, because we did draw like that fake line in the beginning.
After that dries, I’ll kind of just make sure everything is cool. And if there’s some hairs at the bottom, don’t worry we’ll like kind of I’ll talk about what I do with that stuff. So after we have our brows on, I kind of just let them dry.
Um, so I’ll be using, while they are like drying I’m going to use a little, um… primer spray, and this is Pixi hydrating milky mist. I got this at Target. Um, I learned about it from JkissaMakeup if you ever watch her, she does all cruelty free makeup.
And uh she’s cool. This is the part of like makeup routine that is like the most precise. I’ll just take a little like dense concealer brush. So, whatever one I’m in the mood for, I’ll just take this one.
And once that’s all dry, and your brow mascara is all dry, I’ll take some eye primer. This is by…. MicaBeauty? Is that a company? I just like the eye, eyelid primer because it’s really thick. Like, I’m.
.. probably like all the way through this. So I like to use this because it’s thick so I’ll kind of just dip my brush in there and I will follow the line that I created right there with the brow and like just swoop that up.
And what I like about this is it’s so thick that it will cover any like brow hairs if you haven’t had your brows done for a while, if you don’t want to do your brows, if you like live that more natural life, if it’s just like not that important to you Um, I have no idea what I’m doing with my brows as of late.
So if I can come in with this and kind of just cover up these hairs, like that’s cool with me. And clean that line up. And again, it’s so thick it kind of covers any like loose hairs. And then I’ll take, so your brow isn’t like *psh sound* I’ll take this and kind of smudge into this line right here so the brow hairs look a little more natural.
I’m just like dabbing and like smudging. The motion is like *psh psh psh* Smudge it into there. So I have a runny nose, like that’s just my life. So I’ll take this, um eye primer again and I’ll go around my nose where there’s a lot of redness.
And this kind of helps because this will set that makeup in place So if I blow my nose, um, it gives me like a little bit of a chance here. And go in there, TMI. That’s just what I do. So once that’s all in place, I will take this like little fat stipple brush here and I’ll go in with my NYX BB cream.
I’m not trying to like make a full statement here. I’m just trying to like… kind of add some coverage and blend in this really thick makeup. So you know where your freckles are, and if you have no freckles, don’t mind me.
You know where your freckles are, so I’ll like just kind of dab this in. Where I want coverage. *pew pew pew sounds* And my forehead doesn’t have any freckles so I’ll kind of go in a little heavy there.
Using this, I’ll just like put this little spray on the brush. I feel like that kinda helps that makeup glide And you get like the most out of your makeup. I’ll kind of go in here and with kind of light strokes bring all that stuff together.
I’ll watch makeup tutorials by like, alt- like not beauty gurus. Kinda like alternative youtubers. who come in and just put the littles tiny makeup on their face and they’re done. And I’m always like what the heck, but.
.. really that’s kind of what I’m going for as of lately. I like to just buff this makeup in kinda like your beautyblender, just like really buff it in. And get around that like harsh concealer line. So I’ll come in again and just you know, the usual right under here.
I really like this little applicator there. You can really like get in and for me like I know for me my freckles kind of start here and down. Uh, I can just like… So I have a lot of freckles on the nose, sometimes I’ll like *joop sound* And I’m going to skip that today.
I may put some liteness right here. But here is a little foundation brush by Vanity Planet there. So it’s funny you know, I’m like… I never thought that makeup brushes would be made like nonsynthetic.
I don’t know why. But, in my collection I uh, I usually buy pretty like inexpensive brushes anyway. So there’s only one brush in my collection I found out was made with animal hair. And I like, feel..
. I bought it after I saw Patrick Starr recommend it. That’s the only one I have and I’m a little more wise to it now. But when I washed that one brush, I ruined it anyway so jokes on me. So everything is kind of blended in, pretty smooth.
Now I’m just going to set all my makeup. And I have this Kabuki brush here it’s so soft and nice. I jsut use NYX um HD Studio, I don’t have a ton of like really expensive makeup. But I am like saving.
I’m going to IMATS this year so I told myself I’m not buying any makeup in 2017 until Igo. So I’m just stabbing that in there. I don’t really like bake or anything. I’m just setting the makeup where I know it might move, like under my eyes and stuff.
I have this NYX ombre blush. This is not a NYX video, I just- this is like the makeup I mostly use. So this is like a really pretty ombre color like this, and this is is Mauve Me. I don’t think this is new, like I got this just from like the NYX kiosk at Ulta.
So, um, the Vanity Planet comes with this is like the blush brush, but for this look, I use this bigger brush and it’s like stained pink from this. So I’ll come in with this and kind of just like really lightly hit the top of this.
*Click click click sound* And then make myself smile. I’ll just like kiss my cheeks. I feel like that gives me like a nice blush and if there is any blemishes or whatever that I didn’t add coverage to, you’re covered.
And like, if that’s too much, you can kind of come in with this guy, and just like… So my everyday eye look is from the Two Faced Naked Eye. Do they still make this? I’ve had this for a really long time.
But this is my everyday look, so I’m going to go in with this fluffy brush. And first I’ll just set under my eye with this white here. Hey Ethan what’s going on. *Cat Meows* What’s up? And then, I’ll take this like- go with this shimmer shade and just because it like really glides really well.
You know, pick some of that up. I’ll start in the middle of my eye, and then work out to the edges in a circular motion. And I feel like the brown of this eyeshadow will kind of go with the brown of your freckles.
And I’ll just like blend that forever until I feel good about about it. And then I’ll just take this pink shimmer shade and just like highlight the old eyebrow. So this is, uh the Better Than Sex mascara by Two Faced.
So I’m going to come in with the Stroke of Genius by NYX. And I’m going to use this fan brush. I really like applying highlight with a fan brush And I’m just going to use this light shade. Now sometimes I’ll draw in my freckles and I remember I posted some video where I was drawing them in at the end.
And I remember I saw a comment that was like, people are drawing in their freckles now. I was made fun of my whole life because of my freckles and now people just draw them on. And… I just wanted to be like “Who hurt you?” I don’t know.
I think, you know if you want to draw your freckles on go ahead. Like, I have freckles and in the winter, they get really dull. But there is no time limit on TPing your high school bully’s house. I swear.
You get your revenge girl. Because no one is making fun of your freckles anymore. They’re all on runway. Um so from here, the lipstick I’ve been using, like my everyday lipstick, um is Lovesick by Kat Von D and this is a liquid lipstick.
I’m not going to use a lip liner because I want it to kind of like just be a secret and not be like really defined. So honestly this is the finished look. This is my everyday makeup. After my lipstick dries.
.. Don’t you love when beauty gurus do this shit? So I’ll hit- hit this with the milky moon one more time Not what it’s called. And this is my finished look. You know, it- it goes by really fast like this was all in real time.
And I just feel like it’s really cute, really fresh faced, innocent. You know, I think it’s like pinky and… freckly and cute and it’s been like my go to the last couple days where I’m just like want a little bit of extra So you know you could add some- a winged liner to this, you could add some contour.
But for me, I’m kind of just digging the just like simplistic, pinks, browns, freckles Who knows? What do you guys think? Let me know what kind of cruelty free brushes have you guys been into? How do you keep your freckles? And you know, if you don’t have freckles and you still wanted to recreated this look I um have this NYX um, felt tip eyebrow pen.
I like using eyebrow pens for a lot of my fake freckle looks um that you may have seen on other makeup looks I had on this channel. So there’s that, if you’re willing to try that. But yeah! Thank you guys so much! I’m so stoked to have an updated makeup routine for you guys.
Um I’ll leave links for all the brushes down below, and yeah. Thank you guys so much. Give this video a thumbs up, and until next time, bye!
