Hi! I’m Kirsty Meakin from Naio Nails! And in this video I am going to show you all about wraps. And when i mean wraps, I don’t mean like — I can’t rap. Male speaker: (raps) Kirsty: (sings along) Male speaker: So you just totally ruined my rap there.
You have to take all of the — Kirsty: Come on — come on, do it with us. Male speaker: No. Kirsty: Oh are you not playing now? Male speaker: I’ve lost the moment. Kirsty: Ok. So yeah, all about wraps.
These wraps — NAIL WRAPS — Kirsty: So what I am going to do first of all is create a nail. And then I will put the wraps on. So we are going to put a tip one — and I am using the lovely Almond overlap natural tips.
So I am checking it first from side to side. So I have already prepped this nail, just by removing the surface shine, it is clean and ready to go. I am going to pop the brush on nail glue into that well, these tips are super easy to fit, you literally take it up to that nail, then rock it back, which squeezes any bubbles out, hold it for a few seconds — and Ta da! You can take off any excess glue that might come out with a lint free pad just like that.
And you might know that this id how I like to do with my tips. I like to give them a squeeze. And create more of a C-Curve Just like that. Then i am going to cut down the length of this nail using tip cutters, the blade will be facing me.
So I can only cut me. No — I won’t cut myself I promise. I am just going to bring this down — cut off the excess length and then, because we are doing an almond nail, i am just going to take off those corners.
Then i am going to do this shape and file in the shape. I am not going to blend this in just yet. We need some support on this nail, so I am making sure — this is all nice and straight. The side walls, all nice and straight.
If you don’t know what a side wall is — check this video here. Nice almond shape. Straight side walls. And then I am just going to gently go over that contact area here. Just to abraze it. Then we are going to get a lint free pad and we are going to put some pure acetone on it.
We are going to place it on the nail and rub that contact area. Just give it a bit of a rub and it will start to blend that contact area in. So you don’t have to do as much filing. What you are going to do now — you are either going to whip over with a white block or you can use a file, it is pretty easy to do that with a white block though, and you can see that is blended into to the natural nail perfectly.
So now, what we are going to do is — dehydrate and prime. Just the natural nail. You are not putting it onto the tip. Don’t forget the tip is still attached here isn’t it. I am doing two coats of that, nice and thin.
To give it max adhesion. So I have a natural beige powder and I have some max adhesion liquid. Because we want max adhesion to the nail. So I am going to try do this in one bead. I might have to do it in two.
But we will see. Dragging off a little bit, the liquid going quite low in the powder. So I am loading my brush in quite low, so we can get the angle that I am going into the powder. It is quite low, which allows me to pick up a larger bead.
` Pop it exactly where we want it. Tipping the finger down. Tapping the back, so it is nice and flush, no ridges at the back, we don’t want a step at the back, then we can use the Belly of the brush which is the middle.
And we can start to bring this down to the tip. Making sure we are covering all of the tip that we have put on. And you want to use your brush just to make sure — all of your curves are in the right place.
So you have your apex — look down the barrel of the nail. Look above the nail, the side views. What I am going to do now is wait for that to set up a little bit, then we can do the normal filing routine.
So I am just going to pop a pinching tool on right now that has started to set up. And that is just going to change the curve of the nail and just bring that in. Make it look a little bit slimmer and give it more, more of a solid structure.
So it is going to make it curve like that. So it is not so flat. Because if it is more curved like this, it will be super strong. I have a video of all of that like. Have a look. I will get the right side one.
One day they might start putting them on this side. I am just going to pinch the tip a little bit with my fingers. Just going to do the normal filing routine as I always do. Side walls and we go into the cuticle area.
Female speaker: We should make a song about this. Kirsty: (sings) Side walls, cuticle, A P X. Side walls, side walls. We do the cuticle area. And then we do the cuticle area shape. We get it nice and nice and nice.
And then we go — over the top, over the top, yeah we go over the top. Over the top, over the top, yeah we go over the top. Over the top, over the top Yeaaah. Male speaker: I do think you are going a bit over the top like.
Kirsty: Right, we are gonna smooth this over now with the white block. Smoothy, Smoothy, Smoothy, Smoothy. I can do the smoothy rap. Just going to clean over with some acetone. I am going to do that on all of the nails so they are ready for wrap attack.
To go on. I am going to do a full wrap first. So we are going to cover the entire nail. So let’s take the nail wraps from the packet. All of these products that we are using today are available — on our website.
Believe it or in the description box below. A little packet like that you are going to take them out. Then what we are going to do is, roughly size this up the best you can. So because this is quite transparent you can see — that you can go from edge to edge.
That looks too small. Don’t forget it will stretch and will fit. But I don’t think it will stretch that much. We are going to use this. So the pattern is on this side. The adhesive is on the underside.
You are going to take that off, make sure your hands are clean, everything needs to be clean. Tip that nail forward a little bit. And what you are going to do is line up the cuticle area. So you want to get it as close to the cuticle as you can.
Like that, you see? And then — hold the finger, grab the end of this wrap and stretch through the middle down. And do the same on the sides. Use your thumb to create a bit of heat. Same on this side.
Give it a good rub. Make sure it is all nice and attached to the cuticle. If you get wrinkles you are going to start to stretch this out. If only you could do that on your face. So you are stretching it out like that so it is nice and smooth.
The excess you are going to take your file — file downwards in a downward motion. You will see the excess start to come away. Make sure you go in a downward motion, if you go up you are going to start to lift the wrap off.
So just make sure you have got rid of anything that is hanging off. Now you can leave it like that. Or to keep this on for longer. Because it is going to last you about a week. So what you are going to do if you want to keep it on longer, is make sure when you start to file down, you create a little bit of a border.
So you see this border? Do that round the edge. Then you are going to take top and base from the Urban Graffiti gel polish range. And you can go over the top and round the edge of that border you have created.
And cure that. And take off the sticky layer, then that one will last you a little bit longer. It has got a seal Kirsty: So using the Zebra one. Zebra — that is definitely not a zebra. That is definitely a giraffe? It is Leopard or –.
I don’t know what it is. Kirsty: So as you can see we have popped on a few different designs onto those nails. But on this nail here, I have applied bad attitude. Which is a really, really dark, rich purple colour.
Right, i am going to cut out this triangle here. Now with some tweezers — pick that up, place that on at the cuticle and we are going to cut out a — diamond. And peal this section back; if you bend that plastic back it will just keep want to keep reattaching.
Cut off the bit that we don’t want. And with the tweezers again we peel that off. Line that up, pull that over and we can then file off that excess. Again in a downward motion. With a dry lint free pad — you can add extra pressure onto those little details that you have just made basically with your cut outs.
Because when you do straight lines with nail art — freehand — it is quite difficult. People find that quite difficult, some people find that quite difficult, so this is a bit of a cheat. That you can cut out your wraps and use them like a decal.
I am going to seal that now with top and base from the Urban graffiti gel polish range. Once that is cured in the lamp, I will take off the sticky layer. So using the jar residue — wipe off solution.
I am going to take off that sticky layer. Ta da! Have some easy peasy nail art using the wraps. So there you are. There are your gorgeous wraps. A little bit different, something easy peasy as well. Don’t forget — to subscribe to this channel.
