Beautiful cherry blossom nails – this pretty design will definitely leave a lasting impression. So let’s get started 😀 Apply a base of polish to your already prepped nails. I chose to use “honey dew” by picture polish.
If the polish doesn’t look opaque, wait a couple of minutes and apply another coat. You can either clean up around the nails now or after you’ve completed your design; either way works. Once your base colour is completely dried, use a long striping brush dipped in brown polish to create the branches.
When creating the branches, you do not need a steady hand! It’s ok if the lines are a bit crooked or jagged because after all, tree branches do not grow completely straight. Flower time! Take a light shade of pink and with a detail brush, begin drawing longer shaped petals.
I tried to keep 5 petals per flower, but for the smaller ones I only painted four. You can randomly choose where to place the flowers on the nail. If you have longer nails you can create little bunches of flowers as well! Wait a minute for the pedals to dry completely and repeat the same step but with a slightly darker shade of pink than the first one.
This will help create some depth to the flower and make the design even more eye catching. When painting on this layer, make sure not to cover the entire pedal, we still want to see a peek of the lighter of the lighter shade.
Almost done! Next? As a finishing touch, use an even darker shade of pink for the very centre of the flower. Remember, you still want to see the other two shades of pink, so be sure to paint lightly. If you haven’t yet cleaned up around the nails, you can do so now.
If you’ve already completed this step, go ahead and apply your preferred top coat. Voila! The final results? A super pretty and fresh cherry blossom design. If you enjoyed this look and would like to try it out, I’d love to see it by sharing it with me on Instagram using the hashtag veganfingers.
Thanks for watching and until next time.
