Hi everybody, I’m Kirsty Meakin from Naio Nails. In this video, we are going to experiment with gel polish to create a different type of marble. Let’s get cracking! I’ve got a nail tip that we’re working on today.
You’re gonna need some backing paper from your sculpting forms. You could use some tin foil for this, that will also work. What I’m gonna do first of all, is put a coat of gel polish on there. If this was a natural nail, you’d need to put your base coat on first but we’re gonna treat this as if it was a nail extension.
It may be an acrylic one or a hard gel. And I’m gonna do one layer of black. So, this is serious black. It’s called serious black because look at that. Adam: That is seriously black. Kirsty: One coat.
In the lamp we go. You’ll need a gel brush and a dotting tool or something that you can drag through with. Look, I’m still… look at this. We didn’t get all the glitter off. Adam: No, we didn’t. I’m gonna place some white, two sort of little lines of white.
Not that you can see that very well. You can sort of see it a little bit, there. Adam: Mm-hmm. And then, black. And I’m gonna make a little bit of marble, not too much. Then you’re gonna get the brush and then scoop it up, and then, drag it on.
Ooooooo. I like it. Just gonna clean this brush and I’m gonna do another one. Now, I’m gonna come this way and sort of roll the brush, so you’re rolling the gel off. Just gonna pull through that a little bit.
And last one. So, you’re scooping that marble up and rolling it on to the nail. It gives a really cool effect. You can always play with it if you want to. Adam: That’s actually real cool. Kirsty: That’s really cool, isn’t it? And you’re gonna pop this into the lamp.
I would definitely cure this for twice as long because it is a little bit thicker. Some gel polishes that you use too thick will wrinkle because they’re like a hybrid gel polish. They’d be like part nail polish and part gel, whereas, our collection is pure gel.
So, you’re not gonna have like a wrinkle effect because it’s been under cured. It will not happen, not with our Urban graffiti gel polish. So, you could just topcoat it then but you know me, I like a bit of sparkle, so we’re gonna add a little bit of this glitter, and it’s a holographic glitter that has lots of different glitters inside.
So, I’m just gonna take the little parts of it and just add a little bit of pizzazz to the nail. Work with the lines, work with that marble that’s on there. It’ll look a lot cooler. Beautiful! Gonna pop that into the lamp and cure that.
It’s really quick to do as well, it’s a really quick, easy design. I will say, you will use a little bit more products than you probably would do if you were just marbling it on top. But I like this look, it’s a cool different way to do marble.
So, we’re gonna topcoat this now with the urban graffiti topcoat. Adam: It looks rather ghostly. Ooooh. Boooooo! I’m gonna do two coats of topcoat on there just to even out any lumps and bumps because it is thicker obviously, where the marble is because it’s a thicker section to the design.
So, there you are! That’s how to do an easy marble nail with a bit of glitter. It’s a different way…it’s a different way to do marble. There you are guys! I hope you’ve enjoyed this video. Don’t forget to check us out on Facebook and Instagram.
All updates and things like that will be on there, if any like codes for discounts, you’ll see all that on Facebook and Instagram and I’ll see you guys in the next video. Love you! Bye bye! Adam: Oh! It was supposed to go like that.
Oh, actually! It was stuffed right into the top. Kirsty: It was yeah, it was full to the top. Adam: You’ll have somebody’s bloody eye with that. Kirsty: I think the top gives you a bit of pressure, don’t it? For it to build up a vacuum, not a vacuum and then poof, no? Adam: No.
