Kirsty: Hi everybody, I’m Kirsty Meakin from Naio Nails. In this video, we’re gonna show you what we do after we have been doing tutorials all day. Adam: Get drunk. Kirsty: Yeah, that’s what Adam does.
Kirsty: Well, what we’re gonna do is we’re gonna finish Olivia’s nails. So, today we filmed five videos and we’ve done individual fingers. Now, it’s great to see a full look, but we produce a video each day, so we have five videos out in the week.
If we did full look videos, you would be only having one video a week, I think. And we wanna share as much as we can with you and we want to make sure all the videos that we do are really in-depth and they go in-depth about one design.
Yes, we have done full looks before. We’ve even done mixed-media nail art once, we’ve gone to town. But a lot of our videos are just one nail. But I don’t want you to be thinking, the models are going away with all these different nails and they look a bit strange.
Because if you look at Olivia’s nails, We’ve done a short Ombre, we’ve done this with the Foil, we’ve done the Rose Quartz, we’ve done the…what did we call this? Adam: I can’t remember. Kirsty: It’s like a jewellery nail.
Adam: Caber something. Kirsty: Caber… Adam: Cabonair? No, that’s not… Kirsty: Cabergen. Adam: … that’s wine. Kirsty: Cabergen. Something like that. Adam: Yeah. Kirsty: And then, we’ve done this complete Disco Nail and obviously, they don’t match.
So, what I’m gonna do is make them match and finish them off. So, she’s actually got a set of nails that look like she’s had them done rather than all different fingers. Okay! So, here we go! So, what I’m gonna do is look at the nails and oh, straightaway jumps out that two of the nails have a lot of blue on.
So, we have these two and I think these two still go. It’s got the blue, it’s got the gold. So, I think we can tie one of these nails in over here and vice-versa. So, I think we can do something like this on here, with the blues and the golds.
I think with this one, we’re gonna cover it. With this one, hmm! What should we do? I think I should pick a purple out of it as well, from this nail. With that one, I don’t want to take it off really but I think we’re gonna have to.
Kirsty: You don’t want me to? Olivia: Don’t know. Kirsty: I know what we’ll do. A blue nail with some Transfer Foil, so it matches. We’ll do a few of them. So, because I’m gonna put gel polish on these, I need to buff this one because it’s been topcoated.
So, I’m gonna buff over this. I’m gonna file it a little bit just so I know I’m getting that topcoat off. You need to go a bit lightly really, and I’m buffing just to remove the topcoat. And then, on this hand, you also need to buff this one.
So, file it a little bit just to break through that topcoat and then buff. And then we’re gonna change this one. So, I will need to file this one. So, I’m filing to get rid of the gel polish in the Foil.
Adam: And that comes off really easy, don’t it? Kirsty: It does come off really easy. Kirsty: Some people think you’ve got to use an electric file but I mean, you can use an electric file but it’s quite easy to just file away.
Bye-bye beautiful nail. So, I’ve changed the position of the hands, so I can really get down this side. This is probably one of the hardest corners to file. Adam: If you’re right handed. Kirsty: Yes, if you’re right-handed.
Kirsty: If you’re left-handed, then it’ll be the opposite corner. Make sure I’ve got all that colour off. Just going underneath with the file, just to make sure I haven’t got any of that black stuck underneath the file.
So, if you look here, we’ve got a tiny bit of black still there and the buffer will just get rid of that. So, I’m just gonna wipe over. Just making sure they’re nice and clean. Right! So, I’m gonna do this blue.
I think I’ll do the little finger blue as well. This is 961. And then, I’m gonna put this purple on. Erin would love this purple. Now Erin has to have short nails. Erin is a wheelchair user, so Erin has short nails as well.
She has them not quite this short, they’re a little bit longer than this but, I told her today we were doing short nails and she was like, “aah! I have short nails. You must tell everybody.” It’s 954, this purple is.
Erin loves purple. It’s her fave. The bronze one is 224. So, I’m just gonna add in a little bit of each colour that I’ve got here. Champagne Bubbles. And I’m just gonna use the Silicon Tool to just marble these colours.
Pop me that in the lamp. Gonna do the opposite on here. So again, I’m gonna do a little bit of marbling. So, I’m just running the tool through the colours. And if you drag it too hard, it kind of takes off the colour but if you tap tap tap, it will put the colour back Pop them in the lamp.
Gonna do second coat of the blue. Second coat of blue on this hand. So, I’m gonna use a bit of this foil. This beautiful foil. I’m gonna use different parts of it. This is just directly on top of the sticky layer.
So, this is just the sticky layer of the gel polish itself. So, I haven’t base-coated it or added anything. I just wanna add a little bit of… Adam: Sparkle. Kirsty: Yeah, bit of sparkle. Kirsty: Bit of sparkle, bit of colour.
Imagine if you put it on your face. Olivia: You’d be covered in it. Adam: Hey, you probably could. Kirsty: I know. On your eyes. Like that. Kirsty: That’d be pretty cool, wouldn’t it? Adam: Quick make-up.
Kirsty: Mmm-Mmm! Delish! You’ll topcoat these. These can be cooking away. Gonna do the same of these ones as well. Olivia: Can I not have rainbow stones? Kirsty: Of course, you can. Kirsty: Hell yeah.
Olivia: To go all out on the Disco front. Adam: Why not? Kirsty: Of course! Kirsty: We need these ones. This is what need. These ones Kirsty: These. Olivia: Oh, yes! Kirsty: A bit of that. Kirsty: Some of them.
Yeah. Olivia: They’re twinkling at me like. Kirsty: Yeah, they’re saying hello! Kirsty: So we’re gonna put the metal pieces on with…and the stones, we’re gonna put them all on with AcryGel. So, we’re gonna pop a little bit of that there.
I need a Dampen Dish with the Gel Residue Wipe-off Solution in. That’s for my brush because I’ll need to clean out the brush with that and then use the dampened brush to move around the AcryGel. If it starts to stick to your brush, then you’re gonna clean your brush again.
The brush is damp with the Gel Residue Wipe-off Solution in and this makes the AcryGel not stick. So, you wanna put that on so it looks seamless. Then we’re gonna put topcoat on that. You don’t cure it, go straight on the top.
And around it, I’m gonna press that in as well. And then I’m gonna get some of these long thin bars on the side. So, you’re working with that kind of V-shape. It’s a bit art deco, I think. It’s got that kind of feel to it.
Just gonna skip over the edges. So, I’m gonna do something on that one. I’m gonna put stones on that one. Alright! So, this time with this one, I’m gonna put more of the AcryGel on because the stones I’m going to put on the pointy back, so we need to build up, like a little mountain of gel, so they can actually sit in that and be all nice and secure.
Still making it seamless. Still blending those edges. Leaving it higher where you’re gonna put the stones. Press that in. I’m gonna fill around the big stones with little stones. I’m just gonna put some gems on these two and maybe a little bit of the gold stuff as well, like, you know like them Metallic bits.
Because if we do like, …if we do the stones that we’ve done on that one on here, they’ll get lost. Adam: Hmm! Kirsty: Because it’s so busy. You know, the nail’s quite busy and the colours of these are, you know, very busy.
I think they’ll just get lost. So, it needs…the stones that go on there, on here, need to be one colour. Let’s finish them with some Cuticle Oil. Ey, for short nails, they don’t half look bad, do they? Kirsty: And you’ve got your bling and your sparkle and all that still.
Olivia: Yeah. Kirsty: I’d definitely say they all match now, don’t they? Adam: Mm-hmm! and you’ve got a full look. Kirsty: Definitely got a full look. They do look like…what did I say earlier? Adam: I don’t know.
Kirsty: Art Deco. Adam: Definitely art deco, yeah. Kirsty: Yeah! Kirsty: With a modern twist. They look okay also. They look lovely. Adam: So, basically, them two the inspiration. Kirsty: Mm-hmm! For the full set.
Kirsty: So, there you are, guys. That’s what we do when we’ve finished filming, but guess what, we didn’t finish filming because we’re still filming now. But we thought we’d give you an insight of what we do with our models.
You know, we don’t send them away with all different things on because that just wouldn’t be good. We actually give them a full look to walk out the door with. Everything I’ve used is listed below and I’ll see you guys in the next video.
Bye-bye! Adam: That rhymed. Kirsty: I know. I didn’t know how I did that. I’m not intelligent enough for that.
